Qualifications:

For Temporary Assistant Lecturer:
A Bachelor's degree with a specialization in the relevant subject, holding either a First Class, Second Class (Upper Division), or Second Class (Lower Division) Honours.
Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree without honours in the relevant subject or any other degree with at least Second Class Honours, combined with a higher degree such as a Doctoral Degree, a Master's degree with a research component (thesis/dissertation), or a Master's degree with at least 60 credit units and a minimum of 15 research credit units.
Other academic or professional qualifications approved by the University Grants Commission may also be accepted.
For Temporary Instructor:
A Special Degree in English or a General Degree with English as a subject.
Alternatively, a Special or General Degree with a Diploma in English of at least 18 months duration from a recognized University or UGC institution.
A Postgraduate Diploma or Master's in Teaching of English as a Second Language (TESL) of at least one year from a recognized University or UGC institution.
A Trained Teachers' Certificate or a specialist English Trained Teachers' Certificate with a minimum of three years of post-training experience.
A National Diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language from a College of Education, or a Higher National Diploma in English from the Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education (SLIATE), each with at least three years of post-qualifying experience in teaching English.
A good command of both English and Sinhala/Tamil is also required.

Salary:

Assistant Temporary Lecturer: Rs. 85,305/- (Basic)
Instructor in English (Grade III): Rs. 68,145/- (Basic)
Government-approved allowances for the University system will also be paid.
